Just a reminder that on Tuesday we are off to Circle Square ranch for our field trip.
Please see the note sent on Friday. Also, there is no school for Kindergarten on Thursday, since it is Kindergarten orientation day for the upcoming students.

The students are getting accustomed to their new classroom and are busy learning and exploring with seeds and plants. They planted bean seeds in ziploc bags so they can watch the roots and sprouts as the plants grow. We learned what sounds the letters ee and or make in our Jolly phonics. We also have been practicing a poem called "The Seed" that we will be performing on May 27th at our oratory. Notes and permission slips about the Field trip to Circle Square ranch went out today. The First Day in our New Classroom!

It was an exciting day for everyone as we enjoyed learning in our new
classroom. We were able to enjoy the view from our beautiful child level windows and experiment with the Smartboard in our room. The students explored in the dirt and planted seeds as we learn about living things. We even had time to go outside and clean up the playground as we helped to clean up Melville and our earth. Wishing you a Happy Mother`s Day!

We're on the Move

While the students were a away on Thursday, many helpers pitched in to make the move to the new kindergarten classroom. By the end of the day everything was moved in,
now just to put everything in its place. Could be a busy week! Can't wait to see the students' excitement when they arrive. Will make a new post when the room is complete!

Spring

Spring is finally here. As you and your child enjoy the warmer weather help them to notice

signs of spring. Spring, earth day and recycling will be topics we visit this month. Students will be going bowling on Tuesday at 1:00p.m.

Little Blue and Little Yellow and color mixing.

After reading the story "Little Blue and Little Yellow" by Leo Lioni, the students then experimented with color mixing on their own. Ask them about how they made the two dots hug to create green without getting thier hands dirty. Be sure to ask to see their artwork creations during your conference visit.

Hi everyone.
I am excited to be back at school.
I hope some warmer weather will soon arrive.
For the month of March the focus color is green.
The topics and themes for this month are community helpers, transportation, and dental health. The students are also preparing for the student led conferences on March 17th. Remember there is no school for Kindergarten students only on this day, as they are to come with their parents to the kindergarten classroom where your child will guide you through some activities and fun.
